Here's a pic from the 75 IROC that LMC did.

An old HOT ROD magazine article I have says that the original IROC Camaros used ford rearends with full floating axles. Corvette brakes were used front and rear. Also, the article says that the front spindles were replaced with Corvette uprights. Hope this helps. Cool project!20231121_190518.jpg20231121_190400.jpg20231121_190323.jpg

Saw that too.

That these cars were equipped with Ford rearends was because they were the only ones Holman & Moody could supply with full-floating axles.

As I recall, all NASCAR cars had to have the full-floater rear axles, which was also what 1-ton trucks had under them. In this case, it probably was the Ford 9" as H&M were involved. They probably adapted their normal NASCAR rear axle assy, but probably with a different width?

Most 1 tons, back in the day, would have received a Dana 60. I’m not sure Ford ever installed a 9” in a 1 ton anything.

If anyone is interested I have an old Whale Tail deck lid hanging around outback, reasonable to see it go to a good home.
