Well she cranked up Thursday and after setting timing and carb took her for a spin. the 1st in 28 years. Then to the muffler shop the next day for the exhaust, should get the lower valance and front spoilers on this weekend.

Wow...love the exhaust work. Super clean. I agree the latter hood script would contrast with the other decals . I hope you can get some color on the hood scoop . Those colors on the hood helped tie the whole color scheme together. Outstanding so far.

Yeah I think the guy did a real nice job on the exhaust Pilot ha sold me 2 Turbo mufflers for $12.50 each, 2 factory style tips with OEM style hangers from Walker for $20.00 each. The total job was $350.00 materials and labor out the door, and then for another $60.00 he did a front end alignment, now she drives and sounds like new money lol. I'm pretty sure Sonny will take the 77 scoop decal and work his magic on the 80 style scoop and end up with a great look. Thanks again for the encouraging words.

Nice car! I'm pretty much at the same place you were at the beginning of September. Keep us posted on what you do with the decals. I also have an 80 hood and would like to see what you end up doing. I was thinking of using the decal for the hood like in this picture but I haven't checked if it's available.

Thanks, and as we all know these restorations take awhile I'm glad to be winding it down. I should get to the decals in a couple of weeks and will post some pics. I've seen the scoop decals on ebay from time to time and seems to me some of the stores like Classic or Bobs Camaro sell the scoop decals without buying the whole set.

Been working on the lower front valance panel over the last week it's a fiberglass repop. These things are a lot of work, lots of trimming, hole cutting, filler, primer and paint to get them right. I put the front spoilers on last night, they are supposed to be the body color but I like them black so I left them that way.

Did not know a repop of that lower piece was available. It looks correct . My car frt side spoiler sections are unpainted , and the center lip on the valance is painted black to match the plastic sides. Those lower valance panels took a beating back in the day. I'm real careful about curbs and such....LOL
