Did all 1970 Camaros come from the factory with the 70 only style seats or did some of the later 70's come from the factory with the next high back style seat found in the 71's?

So do you have high back seats in your 70?

No, currently it has the 70 low back style seat with headrest. I personally like the looks of the 71 high back style better and am contemplating using those when I do the interior restoration on the car. (new seat covers and foam) I already have a set of 71 seat frames and was just wondering if the later 70's may have possibly came with the 71 type seat. Not necessarily a stickler for originality.

If you have a manual tranny, switching from the 70 seat to the 71 seat would be a mistake. The 70 seat is firm and gives good support when using the clutch. The 71 and later seats are soft and don't provide as good support, so you end up moving around in the seat when you depress the clutch.
If you have an automatic, it doesn't matter. Just pick the one you prefer.

I have a 4 speed trans. I dont think that will be a problem with new seat foam and covers.

Well if you have the '70 seats, they are way more valuable than the 71s+, so you can make a few $$ selling them if you go that way.
