Dcozzi, you have mail.

Doug: I don't think you can make the "same power" with a cast iron log manifold, than you can with a set of 1 3/4" tube headers....I'm sure you can make "some power" but I doubt they'd work in the direction I want to go in....

I know of a guy in Illinois running high 8's with twins on log mainfolds in a 74/75 Camaro. I almost bought the car. folks its ALL in the combination. the trick is finding someone that knows what the heck they are talking about & can get you a good turbo that is going to work properly with your goals.

Stroked-Z,

I knew when I typed that it would meet skeptisism :') Manifolds might leave a few percent of power on the table but Ive seen crazy hp out of nearly stock type motors with cast iron manifolds feeding the turbo . over 1000 hp is a walk in the park.

Years ago when I was thinking of going with twin turbos I was on a business trip to southern Ca and went to one of the better known shops in the turbo business, I can't remember the name now, and they built there manifolds from weldable stainless pipe fittings. As far as stock manifolds go they would work well the reduced flow compared to headers is not as important on a turbo engine, at least not until you start trying to make extreme power. One advantage to a cast iron manifold would be the added heat it would hold. On a turbo setup heat in the exhasut before the turbo makes more power. I guess if you go this route you would have to use a turbo with a built in waste gate, because there would be no easy way of plumbing one to a cast iron manifold.

A Nice Fuel Inject setup
with something like this would satisfy me.
you can find out alot of information about turbos from some of the Outlaw 10.5 racers.
