Camarosmith?!?!? Running Free was a damned good song!!!!

I'd be willing to venture a guess that old Steve fell off the wagon ... sounds like the boys had a falling out.

I was one of the biggest Aerosmith fans there ever was until they put out PUMP... they've had a few good songs since then, but I've had enough of the Janie's Got a Gun s**t. Gimme some more Combination, Lick and a Promise, No More No More, Three Mile Smile, Uncle Salty, Chiquita, The Reason a Dog, My Fist Your Face... they lost that edge long ago.

Aerosmith should have hung it up 20 years ago. Those guys have been at it for about 40 years now and they're all over age 60. They had some great stuff back in the mid-'70s though, when I was a teenager. Sweet Emotion, Back in the Saddle, Walk this Way and Dream On are my faves. After about 1977 they didn't have much left in the tank. Nothing they did since those days has interested me at all.

I just saw him on local TV here yesterday in Singapore talking about how important music and Aerosmith is to him. That's wierd.

Now I don't know if that was a taped show for a few months ago or not. Since he was talking about the Gold Tourney in Dubia (Which is going on now I think) it could have been too long ago.....

I agree though...time to hang the hat. They were awesome, but they are getting to old to play the rock band thing....Still one of my all time fav's though...with some kick-a$$ songs...

I like thier 80's stuff too. Clearly not as good as the 70's, but still good nontheless....

I have to admit....the 70's was the era for Rock Music.

The problem I had with Aerosmith and the 80s was that they were clearly getting old in the tooth as the 80s came in. I mean they had that one album Night in the Ruts in '79 and none of the buds I hung with back then bought it, except for a few super die-hards. It wasn't a very good record compared to their earlier stuff, so I guess after that I just lost interest in them completely. I think if it wasn't for RUN DMC Aerosmith would have faded off into semi-obscurity -- playing state fairs with Eddie Money as Lowend mentioned.

Speaking of Eddie Money, I recall watching on the late night news several years ago, sometime in the 1990s, he played at a big venue in Toronto one summer and only 60 fans showed up. Money was seriously pissed off, but played anyhow.

I'm always amused at 'they should hang em up' comments when talking about an artist/group that still sells out arenas. It's not quite Puppet Show & Spinal Tap level. LOL

From what I kept hearing Tyler fell off the wagon again and Perry is rather tired of Tyler's behavior and having to cancel shows - which is why he immediately hit the road w/o Aerosmith after Tyler got hurt. Perry made a lot of negative comments at that time. Rumor is he got hurt on stage because he was lit or hungover from the nights before. But shows before that were cancelled too due to erratic behavior.
