WoW. I didn’t know the 200r4 was that rare. What years were they available and in what GM’s ?
I bought one from JaKe 12 yrs. ago complete with converter and TV. I think I paid $1000. I know it wasn’t more than $1200. And that was with shipping and no core.
Still works great. Firm shifts. No leaks.

^ I did the same.
Got one from Jake the same time you did.
Still working great after 60K miles. :D

They were only used in GM vehicles for 10 years and haven't been produced for 30 years now.
The THM200-4R can be found in the following vehicles: (from Wikipedia)

then just to add a few more $$$ to the 30 yr old 4 cylinder tranny.....if you are running ANYTHING with more than 25 ft/lbs of torque....right from the start you are looking at about $600 of billit/300M parts from CK.

I have had a 2004r or r4 since 2009. It was initially a TCI Street fighter unit. Since rebuilt with ALL Art Carr internals. A built 383 engine. Works awesome. Tricks are cooling and TV cable. Do it you will never look back.

It is actually easy. I am not a mechanic by any means. Also either order the shifter kit from Shift Works or buy an aftermarket shifter. I have spoke to Art Carr personally and he stands by his stuff. FYI I had a 1987 Buick Grand National with this transmission. That car went 11.89 @ 112 back in 1988 @Heatland Park Topeka.

Art Carr may be easy, but not cheap. One build to take 400-600hp cost $2699.99, then add taxes and shipping. Guess expensive and cheap are relative.

I bought all the parts and had a local guy do it. And NOT transmission guy can do them. It was not cheap but it was fair. And so far reliable.
