Has anyone here tinted their Fisher T-Tops with aftermarket tint? If so, how were your results?

My tops are in awesome condition, but I would like them darker, and am considering adding an additional layer of tint. The glass curves in every direction (albeit not harsh curves, just slight) but enough to stir a little skepticism in my mind about how the tint will lay out. I have tinted side glass on a few vehicles before, but the curvatures were never quite as much as that on these tops.

Any input from those who have "been there-done that" on the Fisher tops would be appreciated.

No sure if you can dark tint the t-tops. I know when we tinted the windows on my wife's Mustang they said they couldn't do a dark tint on the sunroof because it work crack the glass. They did put a light tint but that was as dark as they could go.

I did it but keep in mind the tint will make the glass hotter, something to do with the heat absorption rate of tint, so be cautious about putting cold water on them if they've been in the hot sun.

I believe mirror tint has the least absorption but it looks awful.

I have never heard of tinted glass getting hotter...but since the tint blocks much of the heat from entering the cabin, and it's not reflecting it, that sounds plausible...that would be an interesting test to conduct with a laser thermometer...glass temps before and after tinting.

I was considering the mirrored tint, but was unsure how it would look under the factory tint. Darker for sure. I had some on the side glass of a 2005 Silverado, it did a stellar job of cutting the light and heat...it looked ok there. I would like to see a pic of tops tinted with mirror film if anyone has them. I had a set of the gold mirrored T/A glass tops years ago and they looked sharp.

Years ago when I had my 87 Cutlass 442 with T tops here in Texas the sun beat thru those tops so I had the limosene tint installed at and it worked great and never had a problem with it.

This is the kind of result I was hoping to hear. I usually keep the tops on during the day, and like the added light and open feeling, but don't much care for being baked alive.
