My 79 has the black felt mat, which I would think was the standard that they would have all come with -but not 100% sure.

Yep, mine is black felt also, came from factory that way.

I found a jute mat with a black with Aqua herringbone print that looks interesting. Just wondering if this was available back in 78-81.

Back in '84, I had a 20,000 mile '79 Z. I distinctly remember the black felt-like trunk liner.

1979 and mine is black felt as well.

The early Camaros had an available herringbone mat, but I've not seen one in the later cars. You could try one for an early car and see if it fits.
