I read recently that a thin coating of WD-40 over the entire engine will inhibit rust on the chrome and other parts over the winter. Anyone do this? Thoughts?

Why? It's safe on rubber... I've fogged down moist engines to help start them, after all WD stands for Water Displacement. Here's a link to their FAQ'sZ28zz383 said:Keep it off the plug wires and it will work ok....
