Who's your DSL provider? I've never done a DSL setup where i had to call and register a MAC ID. ATT/Earthlink all work off of PPPoE around here which is basically your email address and password or email addresss and a network password for some att accounts, its entered into the router/modem and just authenticats with the their server.

The only service around in my area that requires the registering of the MAC ID is Comcast and Astound (both cable internet providers)

Correct. Registering MACs is a cable thing. The MAC isn't used with DSL. With DSL, you have a private line that goes to your house only, and they don't need to know your MAC.
First check with your provider that the modem/router you are trying to use is compatible with their service. If they say it is, you can replace your existing modem/router and enter your username and password and any other setup information you put in your original modem.

Our Wii picked up the wireless signal without a hitch. That doesn't help with the router but it should be one less thing you have to deal wih LOL.

That's right, cable is the MAC number and DSL is compatibility with modem.

I've been dealing with cables lately cause I kicked ATT to the curb back home.

All I did with mine was run an ethernet cable from my DSL modem TO my wireless router. On the back of the router, it has 1 internet (IN) and 5 (OUT) ports. I ran another ethernet cable from the wireless router back to my PC. I never needed to call my ISP or anyone else. Of course my router had an installation disk, but if you don't have one, it's as simple as visiting the manufacturer's website for a software download.

I also ran Cat-5 ethernet cables from the router to both of my HDTV receivers. As far as the Wii wireless setup, it's fairly straight forward. Go into the Wii's menu and navigate around until you find broadband settings....and choose wireless. Just read the instructions on the screen.

PS3 is even easier. Pretty much anything in my house that is internet usable is connected.

I know how to connect the Wii to the internet, I was asking if the wireless router would work. And Andy, I tried running an Ethernet cable from the DSL to the wireless, and nothing happened.
Has the wireless router been configured/setup yet? If you don't have an installation disk, visit the manufacturer's website for assistance how.

This isn't a wireless router he is trying to connect. It is a DSL modem that has its own built in wireless router. You can't use two DSL modems on the same line at the same time.

Exactly as I understand.

Well, the dsl modem would create a network between the two pc's I had pluged in but it wont see the internet connection.

I set up and installed the drivers that came with the wireless modem. (well James did)
