You do know they make a Coil over kit for out cars that does not need that plate?
I can't see the what you gain by mounting it on that plate as apposed to using the Coil over kit that has the spring with the larger side and the shock using the stock location.
I was thinking of going that way but figured I would save some money and use the stock Coil over kit because I could always go back to the stock spring and shock if I wanted to for some crazy reason.

yes I know I can use a stock upper mount as I have ride tech coil overs on the car now. The reason that Im going this route is to get a shock with a longer travel for auto cross.
