I want to take my car off the dolly so, I need tires and wheels. I going with the Torque thrust wheels, 7's on the front and 8's in the back. I would like to hear from everybody about back spacing and tire size so I don't fu@k up. I made a beneficial mistake in the front by mounting my inner fenders on the inside of the fender lips so I should have a little extra room. The back is where I would like to get the biggest tire I can with no rubbing. Everything is stock in the back on this 1970.

If only there were a massive 20 year running database of what fits, with photos...

Good morning, it depends upon the look you seek, and the stance you want to achieve. The '73 has Torq Thrust II wheels, 15 x 6 front and 15 x 10 rear, the rear wheels have 5-1/2" backspacing, The front has 215 60 R15 and the rear has 275 60 R15, this required rolling the fender well lip to keep from cutting the tire. If you want to be more conservative, the 15 x 8 or 15 x 8-1/2 could be simpler to install. If you want to fill the rear wheelwell, you might consider a 255 70 R15, as it is between 1/2" and 1" taller than the 275 60 R15. The Torq Thrust D offers these variants and they are much less expensive than the Torq Thrust II wheels. Hope this helps

I've always liked Torque Thrust wheels too. the problem is that they don't make them in different backspace measurements. The biggest you can use is a 7" wide wheel so that limits the tire size you can use. I use wheels like Billet Specialties. They make wheels in a variety of widths and backspace measurements. I found that I can use a 275/60-15 tire on a 15X8 wheel with a 4.5" backspace on the rear of the car. I also have a tool from Detroit Speed that can be set to replicate any dimension of wheel. You can mount the tire that you want to use on this tool and bolt it to the car for a test fit. I support the car with a jack under the suspension so that replicates the ride height of the car.

The 36 pages of wheel info is useful but, I'm going to quite being a lazy pile of ka ka. I'm going to pull the 8's and 10's off my T/A and do some measuring. I have 235/60 15's with 8" rims on the front of my T/A and it has plenty of room with no rubbing. I'm thinking the Camaro has less front wheel well room than the Pontiac even though It's a lot alike. When fitting the front end on my Z I referenced the T/A, I copied the inner fender well and mounted them on the inside like the T/A. The holes didn't line up very good and took extra effort to get to jive but, it should help in the long run. Thanks for all the input and maybe this info will help others in the future.
