Have a 8.5" 10 bolt rear end in my 78 Z28. Have 3.42 gears and plan to stay with this gear I think, but wanting to change to a limited slip. Planning to replace entire rear end package. Have rebuilt my engine to a stroker with an expected 425 hp.
Wanting some recommendations for typical street and occasional autocross driving. Who makes the best package for the money?

So you're keeping the gears and replacing the rest, right? Then it's time to step up to 30 spline axles.

You can order Moser axles along with the rest of the parts from Summit or Jags, but some vendors, like Dutchman axles, can set you up with their stuff as well.

For street/track you're probably better off with a clutch type unit from Eaton or Yukon. For track/street you can go with a helical unit like aTruetrack.

I agree. For street and auto cross the 30 spline Truetrac is probably your best choice. Moser 30 spline axles are a direct fit without any modifications.

On my 1979 Z-28 with a 500 HP 377 cubic supercharged small block Chevy ,Super T-10 four speed ..I used my original housing .Moroso "Brute Strength" posi .30 spline Mosier axles .And a new set of Chevrolet 3:42 gears ,Since mine was an Turbo 350 car I changed over to a 4 speed .A Moroso rear cover Stud Girdle .And a local shop set it up.
