A fair number of new PP and flywheels are new, but don't have totally parallel surfaces. In mass production, they get machined with a concave or convex face. This leads to uneven friction break-in, and uneven disc. wear. Before installing any PP or flywheel, a straight edge should be used on it. In your case, if the PP were cleaned up by a brake and clutch re-liner business, it might make your naughty spot go away. Especially if it was concave in the first place.

A small indented area you're showing is not a problem, any more than the friction surface passing over those 3 drilled holes. The disc can't catch and shred on that area unless the edge of that spot is raised. Plus, the very outer edge of the pressure plate isn't getting much friction contact in the first place.

A flywheel is supposed to be ground slightly convex.

Looks like a cast pressure plate and the cast surface was low out at the bolt flanges so it didn't get cleaned up when it was machined...I'm not sure that would be a problem as long as it balances out okay.
I'm looking to upgrade to a twin disc and hope I don't have issues getting a good one if all of these companies are using parts from China now days. I was wanting to use a lighter weight clutch kit with an aluminum flywheel.
