Well I spent a long time getting the trim off the windshield and part of the back window. Made an improvised tool and started on the front. The windshield had a big crack in it so I wasn't too worried about messing it up, which is good because I ended up breaking it. The tool worked well but a few plastic clips were broken. Getting through the seal was a giant PITA. Used guitar wire. I'm afraid to do the back window.

All the trim came off ok.

The bottom 4 bolts holding the rear bumper on are rusted to hell and spin freely when I try to take the nut off, so I'll have to get a dremel and cut them off...

I think I'll upgrade the suspension in front and back.

I broke my needle nose pliers. First casualty of the project.

Back window is tempered glass, MUCH MUCH easier, it's not anywhere near as fragile, I had one that I was too lazy to pick up and walked across it for years, no breaks. Depending if it's been ever been replaced or out, it may just "fall out" or pop out with a little pressure once the trim is gone, it's nothing compared to a windshield.

Like 72heaven said, don't let the rear glass intimidate you its pretty hard to break. Mine was leaking so I tackled it a couple of months ago. I bought a tool for about $15 bucks off of amazon that made cutting the existing urethane seal pretty easy. The glass lifted right out with minimal force. I was lucky though because I had access to industrial suction cups for glass which made it really easy to grip and I highly recommend a helper. We initially lifted it out with one of us on each side since its an awkward angle.

Well, I'll give it a go tomorrow, if I'm not too hung over from NYE.

I got all the material in today for a rotisserie. Hopefully I can do that this weekend.
